The Lilith Fair is a traveling music festival, that was founded by musical artist, Sarah McLaughlin, Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond and Terry McBride. Sarah, frustrated at promoters and radio stations for not allowing two female artists to perform consecutively. In 1996, Sarah formed and booked her own tour for herself and Paula Cole, Lisa Loeb, Michelle McAdorey, which was performed in Sarah's hometown. The following year Sarah founded the Lilith Fair Tour, which grossed $16 million, making it the top grossing of any festival.
